About Peace Felt
The purpose of Peace Felt is to create a borderless community of Love in Action: appreciating each other's differences while celebrating our oneness. It is about crossing over barriers, expanding our consciousness and connecting people through their passions for art and the heart felt expressions of Love, Unity, Brotherhood and Oneness that we all share.
Peace Felt Around The World celebrates the International Day of Peace as recognized by the United Nations. The International Day of Peace was first established in 1981 by a resolution 36/67 of the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session every September. In 2001 the resolution 55/282 was strengthened to fix the date annually on 21 September and for it to be a day of nonviolence and cease-fire. The resolution was adopted unanimously by the Member States of the General Assembly.

In 1999, preoccupied with questions about the fundamental nature of humanity and the most pressing issues of our time, filmmaker Jeremy Gilley launched Peace One Day and set out to find a starting point for peace. He had a mission: to document his efforts to establish the first ever annual day of global cease fire and non-violence with a fixed calendar date.
Remarkably, two years on, he achieved his primary objective when the 192 member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted 21 September as an annual day of global cease fire and non-violence on the UN International Day of Peace.
Peace Felt was started by Marie Spaulding, felt maker, and founder of LIVING FELT www.LivingFelt.com. This project is a labor of love and an answer to a calling to use her passion for creating connections among people for a global good. Marie's life is surrounded by bright souls finding their creative expression in the medium of felt making and needle felting, and it is filled with wool and felt! In every business and venture from her past, Marie finds herself bringing people together around a common theme or around passions they share - Peace Felt holds the same purpose on a grander scale while also promoting the fabulous medium of felt for artistic expression.
This project is not for financial gain. Contributions will help fund the administration and promotion of the project, while also funding organizations that support peace and higher consciousness learning.
